Everyone loves fossils. But do we know what these creatures really looked like and how they behaved? Find out with “Lyme Regis Rocks”!
“Lyme Regis Rocks” is a brand-new puppet show written by Jane Leakey of Fat Cat Theatre Company originally for the Lyme Regis Fossil Festival. Now the popular puppet show will be heading to Bridgwater for the 2nd Bridgwater Science Festival.
Commissioned by Natural England for the Lyme Regis Fossil Festival, this fun-filled show for all the family features a host of fabulous puppets, including Mary the plesiosaur, Jack the rat and an ammonite with low shellfish-steem.
Specialising in fun, educational puppet shows for all ages, Fat Cat Theatre Co has performed at various UK nature reserves as well as theatres, schools and The Natural History Museum. Jane Leakey, the director, has also been asked to make props for the educational department of the Science Museum. Jane spends many hours researching wildlife and then creating her wonderful puppets. She also spends time working with rescued wildlife around the world – including monkeys, gorillas, chimpanzees and big cats. Her love of animals and the natural world shines through her unique and wonderful puppet shows which both children and adults enjoy
As a talented artist, photographer and sculptor, Jane also runs a wide range of workshops for adults and children including mask making, puppet making, drama, special fx makeup, mosaics, felting, film making and model making
