Funky Fossils

Children had the chance to make a plaster cast of an ammonite – taken home to paint or decorate. They created an underwater scene of ammonites, made from clay prints on coloured paper. Finally, the children made a clay ammonite tile which will be fired in the kiln at the Brick & Tile Museum.

Everyone had a chance to look at and handle a sample of the fossil collection from the Museum of Somerset, and learnt that during the time of the dinosaurs, Somerset was deep underwater.
